Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician located in Bend, OR

About Dr. Barnett

L. Brian Barnett, D.O., is a fellowship trained physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physician who specializes in non-operative treatments of sports, musculoskeletal and spine injuries. He takes a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on the root cause of injury and pain while developing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Dr. Barnett utilizes high-resolution ultrasound, focused electrodiagnostic studies, and fluoroscopic (X-ray) imaging to diagnose and treat ligament, tendon, muscle, nerve, joint, and spine injuries with a high level of precision. He has a particular interest in regenerative medicine and is experienced in the use of orthobiologic interventions, using platelet rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow derived stem cells (BMAC) to facilitate and augment the natural healing process in orthopedic injuries and joint arthritis.

As an avid cyclist and skier, Dr. Barnett chose a career in PM&R to help patients stay engaged in the sports and activities they love. His clinic emphasizes early diagnosis, development of a comprehensive treatment plan, and patient education to achieve an optimal and timely outcome. Dr. Barnett devotes extra time to his patients to understand their goals and to discuss the evidence and costs of available treatment options.

He is a Colorado native who completed a B.A. in history at San Francisco State University. After serving in Morocco as a Peace Corp Volunteer in the Youth Development and Education sector, he returned to the United States to pursue his medical education. He attended the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed residency at the University of Kentucky. From there, he returned to the West Coast for fellowship training in interventional spine, sports and regenerative medicine at the esteemed Bodor Clinic in Napa, California.

When not caring for his patients, Dr. Barnett enjoys cycling, alpine skiing, hiking, reading a quality book, collecting vinyl records with his wife, and watching in amazement as his two-year-old daughter develops new language and dancing skills.

Dr. Barnett is seeing new patients for consultation at Central Oregon Spine and Sports located at 2115 NE Wyatt Ct, #101, Bend, OR, 97701.
